What Should Ash Wednesday Mean to You?

Birth, Death, Rebirth… Repeat… Forever…

The steady march of time is relentless.

The only constant is Jesus’ love for us sinners.

From an early age, my folks took us to church on Ash Wednesday. Maybe to establish tradition, maybe to just help our family remember the path we all take.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. And what happens in between is up to us.

When completing Discovering God’s Plan For Your Life, it became obvious to me that God’s Plan was time-sensitive.

Like Jesus, death is certain and what we have to show for our lives here on Earth should be in keeping with His great and powerful teachings.

And time for us is running out. Like the sands pouring through an hourglass, we will all be returned to ashes and dust.

Yes, ashes are crossed on our heads to remind us that in our mortality, there is the promise of eternal life.

What I call “life after dust.”
