On Being Silent Before The Lord

“Lord, as I think about you and how you keep working in my life, may you strengthen my heart to be silent before you but never to you — no matter the season of life that we are sharing or the reason for which I am before you at the moment.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!”

On Being Silent Before The Lord – Reflections

Often it is in the silence of life that we experience the wonder of our salvation in Christ.   For it is there, in the heart, within the deepest sectors of our inner being, that we often discover:

And Peace…

That truly defies description.

It’s not that other believers do not experience such things in their communications with the Lord: they do.  But in reality, the depth of the experience is truly known only in the confines of the hearts of the ones that are plunged into the tides of God’s caring, supplying, and at times over powering grace.

As you reflect on the Lord and his working in your life — especially during the silent times — allow the video below the resource box to usher you into his presence.

And enjoy.

A Prayer For The Day…

 Reflecting On Scripture

But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead..” (Philippians 4: 7-11)**

Following about a three year search for God, Lee trusted Christ as Savior in 1967 as young Marine. He has served as an outreach pastor and a church planter. The Lord also led him to serve as the Director of Internships at Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, PA where he served for over 20 years. Lee loves to write, has a strong desire to be a positive influence for Christ in our world, and is passionate about family. And speaking of family, he and his wife Sherry (who served as a Director of Elementary Education for many years and recently retired) praise the Lord for being married 44 years, their 3 daughters and son-laws, and 7 grandchildren! Lee and Sherry would say: "We've been abundantly blessed."
