Making The Ordinary Not So Ordinary With Jesus

Reflecting…

We often appreciate but do not praise,
Encounter but fail to see what should be seen,
And enjoy without using joy to prompt prayers for others.  

My point?  

Try taking the obvious, pleasure-filled moments of any day — or any part of a day — and turning those into “praying moments.”  

Pray for people, events, world situations, yourself, others, a family member, a celebrity who needs Jesus, an organization you appreciate… 

Or any number of things.  

I am thinking of praying…

Your way,
For your own reasons,
For however long or short you desire to pray.  

Sing a prayer.  Shout a prayer!  Reflect a prayer.  Write a prayer.  Say a prayer out loud.  Or create a song that is in fact a short prayer.   

Just connect.  Connect with Jesus.  Connect with him by using the ordinary to join your heart to His for a moment in time.  

What brought this to my mind today?  Answer: I did it.  For some reason or another while watering a daisy I thought of its beauty and the beauty of a friend’s life who is going through some very, very deep waters.  

So I prayed for that friend and his family.

“Father, lead me in the oftentimes ‘lost’ art of seeing you in the beauty of life.  As I see you may I be open to pray with a grateful heart.  May my moments of praise be many and may what I see bring to mind all you might have to pray for this day, or night… or whenever.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!”
