This short post will solidify the unbreakable connection between our Purpose and Performance… between your Faith and your Works.

As you have learned in The Believer’s Guide to Achieving Success On Purpose, it is the connection between our Divine Faith and Purpose — combined with our personal power to Perform on Purpose — that permits us to not only LIVE in God’s Grace, but to actually deliver on His Divine Commission to LOVE… SERVE… and GLORIFY Him.

Values or Verbs?

Many Christians see these words as VALUES, and merely pay lip service to them. We see these words as VERBS — ACTION WORDS — that must be put into ACTION in order to actually LIVE them each and every day we are alive. If we don’t, we are alive but we do not LIVE in the Spirit.

“What does love look like? It has the hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men. That is what love looks like.”

He also advised, “Pray as though everything depended on God. Work as though everything depended on you.” Saint Augustine

Power IS Energy In Action.

We recognize God’s Infinite POWER over Heaven and Earth. When we use the word power, we use it in the purely physical sense, a measurement of your personal power to produce Work over Time (P=W/T) or in physics, Power = Energy over Time (P=E/T).  Essentially, if you can easily measure it, the conversation about power is of this world. If the power cannot be easily measured, such as the amount of power necessary to change a Nonbeliever’s heart, then the issue is of Divine nature.

Steven R. Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People observed that “Power is the faculty or capacity to act, the strength and potency to accomplish something. It is the vital energy to make choices and decisions. It also includes the capacity to overcome deeply embedded habits and to cultivate higher, more effective ones.” I believe that this definition is correct from both a spiritual and physical perspective, as it takes nothing away from God’s infinite capacity, or Man’s capacity for doing God’s work on Earth.

So, if you are deeply committed to God’s Divine PURPOSE for your life… deeply committed to actually LIVING the Word… deeply committed to ACHIEVING His plan for your life… then you have no alternative but to become the best YOU possible — by increasing your capacity to LOVE… increasing your POWER to SERVE and increasing the strength of the ACTIONS you take for His Glory.

Just HOW can I live a life of passion and purpose, you ask? What, exactly, am I expected to DO? How can I transform my life’s purpose into an entire series of unstoppable missions… and ultimately achieve the success I desire, spiritually, personally and professionally?

The Answer is SIMPLE…

You are going to, starting right now and for the rest of your life, PERFORM On Purpose!

You are going to greatly expand your God-given skills, talents and strengths… to the point where success comes easy to you.

You are going to LISTEN to the Word of God and ACT on what you hear… quickly moving forward with Authentic Direction and a sense of Natural Mission you have never felt before. You are going to, as James, the brother of Jesus resolved, prove your Faith by your Works…

“What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, ‘Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. But someone will say, ‘You have faith; I have deeds.’ Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.” ~ James 2 14-18 (NIV)
