Thinking Again Of Grace

“Lord, while I know it to be true this day… I want to know it more.  I ask for a deeper, more settled, and more transformational sense of the beauty of your grace in every area of my life.  You give me — and have given me — so very, very much.  In the depth of your love for me you broke the chains and set me free.  I thank you.  I so very deeply thank you.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen!”

Thinking Again Of Grace – Reflections

Reflecting on the wonder God’s grace — a subject to which I return quite often in my thinking patterns and in my prayers — tons of topics could come to mind.  However, the idea of “my chains fell off” has got to be one of the most meaningful to me personally.

Yielding to the deceit and power of sin in our lives yields to an almost never ending variety of “chains” that steal, kill and destroy all that the Lord would have us to be… and all that which we would love to be from the inside out as believers in Christ.

In contrast, yielding to the power of God’s redeeming grace in and through the power of the risen Christ paves the way for experiencing true freedom from the inside out.  Freedom to love in the correct way.  Freedom to pursue dreams, hopes and desires that help us and serve to help and heal those around us.  Freedom to experience peace, harmony and a sense of purpose in life.

Watch the video below the resource box at the end of this post.  Reflect.  And praise Jesus for setting us free by his power, because of his love, and according to his purpose for our lives.  Amazing.  Simply amazing.

A Prayer For The Day…

 Reflecting On Scripture

Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” (Corinthians 12: 8-10)**

Following about a three year search for God, Lee trusted Christ as Savior in 1967 as young Marine. He has served as an outreach pastor and a church planter. The Lord also led him to serve as the Director of Internships at Baptist Bible Seminary in Clarks Summit, PA where he served for over 20 years. Lee loves to write, has a strong desire to be a positive influence for Christ in our world, and is passionate about family. And speaking of family, he and his wife Sherry (who served as a Director of Elementary Education for many years and recently retired) praise the Lord for being married 44 years, their 3 daughters and son-laws, and 7 grandchildren! Lee and Sherry would say: "We've been abundantly blessed."
