The Fruit of Ignorance

, by

“So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.” (Genesis 3:24)

Date line Eden, the Beginning of Time. The press release went something like this, “Adam and Eve were given the royal boot around noon Garden Time, as God noticed fruit from tree of knowledge picked. Film at 11!”

Oh the consequences of Free Will and Original Sin.

In one bad choice our destiny for all eternity was set.

In an instant, we went from coddled and comfortable to estranged and fending for ourselves.

We went from no need for clothes… no worries about food… no security issues… to out in the wild in a eat-or-be-eaten, survival of the smartest environment.

We were allowed to wander and wonder with a childlike persona, never having to sharpen our talents into hard edged skills. To just survive.

Once we were given the big boot out of Eden, peace of mind was up to us.

Actually, everything was up to us!

We have been trying to get back to the Garden for a long long time.

This is a whole lot more serious than being voted off Survivor’s Island.

Our very survival as human beings is at stake.

As time moved on, so did God. Thought humans were a bad idea, so He almost destroyed the planet in a great flood.

Thinking we needed clear rules, He sent down the 10 Commandments as the Divine Laws to live by.

He watched us. He warned us. We still didn’t get it.

So he sends His Son, Jesus, to lead by example and convince people that they must live both, the Law and Love.

His message was simple: Love, Serve and Glorify. Learn to Forgive, as that is the only way we will ever survive outside the Garden.

So, we killed the Messenger — not out of malice — but out of ignorance.

The surprise was that both survived, the Messenger was resurrected and the Message flourished.

Love, Serve Glorify: As you know, we believe these 3 words form the basis of Spirit-Led Success. They are not just VALUES… they are VERBS… action words that must be put into action each day if you are to become a true success.

Why not take a moment and think about how well you LOVE… how well you SERVE… and how often you GLORIFY God in the choices you make and the actions you take.

If you are like me, you will wake up each morning and say, “We did a pretty good job yesterday. We will do better today!”

As you also know, there can be no testament without the TEST!

If you want to becoming a living testament to your faith, why not put yourself to the Gold Standard test of personal and professional EXCELLENCE. Click Here to Take the Believer’s TQ Test…

After all, the only way we are going to transform this world into any semblance of the tranquility found in Eden is to heighten our capacity to LOVE more… SERVE more… and GLORIFY God in our every deed.

Just a random thought this morning as I face a very troubled world that just hasn’t yet gotten the Message.
