Living Your Sacred Purpose

“Only in God do we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny.” ~ Dr. Rick Warren

The Two Greatest Questions in Life…

starbuckspurposeLong before Pastor Rick Warren brilliantly reduced the Purpose Driven Life to a billboard on the side of a Starbucks coffee cup, he asked a question that is top of mind within every person in the world…

“Why on Earth Am I Here?”

The conclusion is that we are all here for a purpose, and it is up to each of us to DISCOVER our Sacred Purpose so we can actually live it.

Which, of course, leads to the second, and arguably the bigger of the two questions…

“Just How in the World Am I Going to Make This Happen?!”

How am I going to make my life matter… to live out of meaning and significance rather than urgency and expedience?

How am I going to become the person God created me to be… wants me to be… expects me to be?

How am I going to release my full potential to work God’s plan for my life and become the enduring success He promises?

How Can I Actually LIVE My Sacred Purpose?

Once you have DISCOVERED your purpose, you cannot stop there. You must actually LIVE it every day you are alive.

Otherwise, what’s the point of KNOWING your purpose if you are not going to DO your purpose?

Kent and I, when writing Success On Purpose, declared that there are two great TRAGEDIES in life…

The first is not knowing the big WHY of your life — and the second — once you know your purpose, the greatest tragedy of all is not LIVING it minute by minute until your Heavenly Father calls you home.

My question to you is simple, “Are you living up to your full potential, right now… actually engaged in LIVING your Sacred Purpose?” If not, why not?

We believe that Pastor Rick is 100% correct when he advises,  “Only in God do we discover our origin, our identity, our meaning, our purpose, our significance, and our destiny.”

The simple truth of the matter is this.

There is no Godly reason to discover your purpose and not live it each day.

Knowing is not enough. You must discover how to LIVE it.

Once you have awakened the Spirit within, you must put your spirit into concentrated, even consecrated action. (Consecrated: verb ~ make or declare sacred; dedicate formally to a divine purpose.)

Without question, God wants you fully ALIVE — fully LIVING your sacred purpose — a life dedicated to actually BECOMING His plan for your life.

Once you have discovered your Sacred Purpose, you must perform as if your life depends on it, because it does. Why?

Because none of us are getting out of here alive.

The question then becomes, are we actually living what’s most important, or are we just going through the motions — committing “slow-motion suicide” — dying little by little each day — rather than living enthusiastically out of a true sense of destiny?

I’ll leave you with that thought as you run over to Starbucks to get your daily ration of java and ponder the wisdom found on the side of the cup!

God Bless,

er
