A Prayer For Today…

“Oh, Lord, I love quality songs of worship.  

Songs that touch…

The mind.  
The soul.  
The spirit.  
The heart.   

Do I ‘get it?’  You know, Lord, how it’s done?  No, I do not.  But that’s not the point.  It is the worship.  The worship of the heart that is shared with your heart.  

And it’s the same with so many, many things you have recorded for us in your Word.  Do we ‘get it?’  Not truly — as in totally and completely understanding the working of such realities as your grace, truth, power, and sovereignty over all things?  How could we get those things?  

Answer: we cannot, but we can share with your heart what our hearts our feeling in praise, worship, joy and amazement along the way: and that is my point today, Father.  

I praise you for creating and allowing me to share in the wonder of heart-felt worship experiences in song.  Whether I listen, sing — or both — I praise you for the gift of being able to do so by your design.

In Jesus’ Name I pray with much, much thanksgiving.  Amen!”

And speaking of worship that touches my heart: this is definitely one of those songs!  I embraced this song in our church service today and offer it to you for your worship enjoyment.  Go to the Father.  Listen.  Enjoy.  And praise the God of all grace that makes so much possible through the saving power of Jesus Christ.
